Whilst waiting to strut my stuff on Radio Oxford’s tea-time show the other day, I listened in to the earlier part of the programme which included a report from the station’s Rome correspondent. No, I don’t understand either.

One of the benefits of local radio is that it picks up on some the important details that national news organisations miss.

So I am indebted to James Cannon and his opposite number in the Eternal City for the observation that, as the cardinals attending the forthcoming Papal Conclave in Rome will be divested of their ipads and mobile phones, they will be unable to send out for pizza.
