Quite pleased with this even though it’s not a “clean” image of the Oxford skyline and the distant buildings are a bit out of focus due to the limits of the camera. The subject of this photo was actually the clouds – it’s part of my weather project.
The position of the sun meant that it really was a case of pointing and shooting, because I couldn’t actually see the screen on the camera, so it was interesting to see how the picture came out.
I like the way that it captures the grey heaviness of the clouds, whilst the tree in the foreground picks up the particular quality of light that you sometimes get before rain. I don’t think that the modern roofs or the tv areal or the crane spoil things – it’s just how things were at that moment – after all, it’s just a snapshot.
