Getting a perfect shot of one of the deer that sneak into the churchyard when they think no-one’s looking is becoming something of an obsession. The key is to speak softly and carry a telephoto lens.
This is the best picture to date and, for me, captures not just an image, but a moment in time. Whilst I kept my distance so as not to frighten her away, she was completely aware of my presence and we spent quite a lot of time just looking at each other. It was one of those perfect moments that you sort of wish would last for ever, but whose specialness depends on their transience. A moment to wrap delicately in gossimer and treasure in your heart.
